Boundaries

The boundaries of the Bel-Air Community are defined as the North Side of Baseline Road, to the East Side of Woodroffe Avenue, to the South side of Highway 417, the west side of Maitland Avenue up to Agincourt Road, and then along the backs of the houses on the west side of Agincourt Road, across Ainsley Road and through Ainsley Park back to Baseline Road.

The Long Story

The Bel-Air Community Association represents the Bel-Air Heights, Bel-Air Park and Braemar Park neighbourhoods of West-end Ottawa.

Following several summer BBQ picnics, Ottawa city Councillor Rick Chiarelli facilitated a meeting at which many community members expressed a desire to get an association going for the benefit of all residents in the two neighbourhoods.

Various issues ranging from traffic to property use/tenancy to roads and some goals, like finding ways to bring community members together for social reasons were cited as reasons to formalize the group. Throughout the Fall and Winter of 2014/15, an increasing number of volunteers have met to create a forum and structure for this community.

The Interim Board of Directors continued to build the Bel-Air Community Association until the first Annual General Meeting on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 1:45pm in the Chambers at Ben Franklin Place on Centrepointe Drive, at which time the larger community elected the first full slate of Directors.
