Update on J.H. Putman School Closure
Post date: Jun 18, 2019 3:38:27 PM
As many in the community are aware, J.H. Putman school is closing this month. The school board will discuss the future of the property at a meeting (probably in the fall i.e. Is the property needed in their inventory or not). Signage will be posted on the property 30 days before the board meeting. If there is no need for the property within the school board inventory, they will circulate amongst their partners i.e. other school boards, government partners. This process takes 180 days. Of the last 4 properties circulated to partners, 3 of those properties went to one of the partners. If no partners have a need for the property, they will go out to market to sell the property. This process may take until the winter or spring of 2020 before there is information on any new use or owners of the property.
We will provide updates as information becomes available.
Yours sincerely,
Bel-Air Community Association Board of Directors
